Audience Member 70’s ‘evil scientist schlock’ movie with the great Donald Pleasance —- but not as good as others around the same time. Plant monsters are laughably fake. Borrows heavily from ‘Freaks’ and even echos the classic ‘One of us’ line. Overall, its missing that special B-movie spark to hold any kind of interest, despite Donald’s fine performance. The real freak show bit was a nice inclusion. Dont think i can sit through this one again Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/22/22 Full Review Audience Member filmnya bikin capek kadang ada bagian yang bikin kaget tp emg kentara low budgetnya. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review dave s The Mutations isn't nearly as bad as one would think, which isn't exactly a ringing endorsement but it does have something to offer. It is the story of a surprisingly subdued mad scientist (Donald Pleasance) who has made it his life mission to speed up the evolutionary process by essentially cross-breeding humans with carnivorous plants. Not surprisingly, things don't go particularly well. The production values are decent and the acting is better than one would suspect, but the movie ultimately fails based on the silliness of the plot and really takes a slide when we get a glimpse of the final product, a human version of a Venus flytrap, which has to be seen to be believed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review delysid d i hated this movie. A mad scientist whose plans to make a half human half plant go terribly wrong and end up causing his own death. So many great movies came out in 1974, this has got to be one of the worst. First of all, its not scary in the slightest, the mad scientist is not evil enough, the "Freaks" are not freaky enough, the whole thing was so lame, its sort of a PG horror movie for children. 1000 Curses!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/21/18 Full Review Audience Member bastante entretenida, y el final me gustó. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The Mutations is an oddity of a film really, from sideshow curiosity to mad scientist horror to 70's sleaze it never quite decides what it wants to be & suffers because of it but there's enough to keep you from being bored & I liked it overall even if it could have been even better.
