Ted B 2.5 stars; A hotshot newspaperman loses his job for insubordination. Down on his luck, he hits the road and meets a girl also down on her luck. In the 1930s, you can see where this plot is going. Together, they catch the big-time criminal of the day, and he gets his job back. Nothing really special here. However; Robert Armstrong did such a good job portraying a devil-may-care ace reporter who could make lemonade out of lemons, that I couldn't help but throw in some extra points for making it compelling enough that you wanted him to be a winner. Interplay between characters/actors is good. Story is charming and entertaining.
