Lea T Loved every minute of it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/21 Full Review David F I'm a big fan of both St. Vincent and Carrie Brownstein. I'm not sure what they were trying to do with this movie. After trying to watch it on 3 different occasions, it still just leaves me indifferent. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/24 Full Review Enrique P I initially watched it for Dakota Johnson and that's always an extra. I liked St Vincent though. This movie was so trippy but it was decent. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review wayne m The Nowhere Inn is an interesting idea for a film but I think a film that never really goes anywhere. Comedian, singer and director Carrie Brownstein wrote this film with friend and fellow musician Annie Clark, otherwise known as St Vincent. I guess it's done in the style of a mock documentary. Wherby Carrie follows St Vincent on the road purporting to make a doco about her life on and off the road. I'll admit I'm not a fan of St Vincent as a perfomer so even the real live concert footage wasn't really exciting for me. The meat of the film though is Carrie as 'director' struggling to make St Vincent more interesting off stage. It gets quite strange at times but honestly I wished it had got more weird. So I was left with a film with a few ideas strung together but nothing terribly convincing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member St Vincent is amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Andrea W I am a fan of St. Vincent and have been for years now. I am also a huge Portlandia fan; Carrie Brownstein's off-beat humor is something that I can and have enjoyed. Because of that, I was excited to watch this film, and truly thought I could handle whatever oddities were thrown my way. I was stupid to think so highly of myself. I felt out of step with this film as soon as it started and never really fell into rhythm with whatever was going on. I loved the music sequences and really enjoyed seeing Annie Clark acting (even if she was playing herself) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Emily Maskell Little White Lies St Vincent's performance is as sharp as her bob Oct 28, 2021 Full Review Phuong Le Guardian Too hip for its own good, the film ends up going nowhere. Rated: 2/5 Oct 26, 2021 Full Review Adam Mullins-Khatib Chicago Reader Lavish sequences showcase the ingenuity of the lead pairing, who play off one another and pull out some of each other's most vulnerable character traits in truly sincere and often amusing ways. Sep 17, 2021 Full Review Mark R. Leeper rec.arts.movies.reviews There are aspects in THE NOWHERE INN reminiscent of SYNECDOCHE and of THE TRUMAN SHOW. This film is semi-autobiographical; it is also somewhat self-referential. Rated: 5/10 Sep 16, 2022 Full Review Daniel Howat Next Best Picture "The Nowhere Inn" explores fame and identity in a unique blend of genres. It is a weird movie that has just the right combination of comedy and experimentation to work. Rated: 7/10 May 20, 2022 Full Review Jenny Jediny Ryan's Test Source Creepy flick.
