Christmas in Vienna is a dull affair for 9-year-old Mary (Elle Fanning), until her beloved Uncle Albert (Nathan Lane) arrives and gives her a special gift: an enchanted nutcracker. On Christmas night the nutcracker -- named NC -- comes to life and takes Mary to its magical land of sugarplum fairies and talking toys. Mary discovers that the wondrous kingdom faces a dire threat from the evil Rat King, and when the nutcracker is kidnapped, she must rally her new friends to save NC.

Idk why there is so much hate about this movie. It doesn’t have to fit for kids. From my point if view in my childhood it was the best movie, I’ve watched a thousand times on repeat. Amazing songs and beautiful features in that. Acting not bad but also not very very good! For me it’s a classica of Christmas. Definitely will show this movie to my kids one day!

I think that after this film Andrei Konchalovsky's road to Hollywood is closed. 90 million dollars for a catastrophic Nightmare with terrible songs, idiotic allusions to World War II, disgusting graphics and a creepy nutcracker. This is simply a sickening sight and it is doubly sad that well-known English artists, along with the cutie Elle Fanning, wrote themselves into this horror. This is simply a disgrace on an intergalactic scale. 0/10
