Bear B It was good, ending was a little boring and predictable. But to the guy who says the rat bites wouldn’t hurt and she was acting like it was the worst pain… Have you ever been bitten by a rat? Their teeth are long and sharp and it aches BAD. So of course she’s going to be in pain bad. And it’s the not knowing when it will bite too. Anyways.. I would say if you’re bored and in the mood for a thriller/suspense watch it. Didn’t care for the guy groping her and hitting her though. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review Jason L I feel like this could have been halfway decent film but I just couldn't overlook some of the really stupid writing decisions. One of the most blatant would be to have the guy that was the host or whatever assault the woman and basically act like a complete douchebag towards her and then continue trash talking her right before handing her a loaded weapon. And you got to figure the people who are willing to play this game are probably not the most stable people. So I'm just saying seems kind of like a dumb writing decision. The acting was not the worst I've ever seen but definitely not what I would call good either. And you really really got to suspend a lot of disbelief. I mean this woman goes into it saying ain't no way I'm going to quit nope. But then holes your hand over a candle for a good long time and having been burnt bad enough to need a skin graft myself that's some of the worst pain you can possibly feel. But then on the second part of the game she has to put her foot in a box that has a rat in it and she's like ready to leave. And then after she finally does put her foot in she's acting like it's just the worst agony ever but when she pulls her foot out there's just a couple tiny little spots. So yeah very b movie and not a good b movie a fairly mediocre b movie with bad writing. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review Scare F I went in with low expectations due to the 28 score here at the time of looking it up, but I was pleasantly surprised! With horror films I think you really need to ignore scores here and just give stuff a chance if the premise intrigues you as this was an entertaining watch. The low score here definitely doesn't do it justice. Sure, it's not the best film ever made and does nothing revolutionary, but the evolving relationship between the player and game master is tense and exciting to witness play out throughout the course of the film. As someone who enjoys stories set in a constricted environment with limited characters and lots of dialogue, this was absolutely a joy for me. I was gripped from start to finish. Anyone who thinks this film is torture porn must be incapable of appreciating the nuances in character relationships. It's more of a psychological horror/thriller than it is gory or torturous. The film's focus isn't on the physical challenges, it's on the constant mental tug of war between the two leads. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/07/24 Full Review Jeremy A This was a great, do acts for $ challenge bottle movie. 4* Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/23/24 Full Review Jonathan D Very boring throughout the whole movie. The premise was okay, but several atmosphere-building details were missing that overall made it feel a bit soulless. Lack of a meaningful soundtrack did not help this. The ending was meh and did not satisfy the conclusion of the story. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/23 Full Review Bryan B Torture porn to the core. Not as sophisticated as saw. Most of the gore is implied and offscreen. A plus or minus depending on your personal blood lust need. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
