Rendy Jones Autostraddle Everything we thought the first movie would be, only worse. Jul 17, 2025 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Empire Magazine Too much distance has crept in for The Old Guard 2 to feel memorable, and it shows. A convoluted, sequel-baiting mess that proves time is not a healer. Rated: 2/5 Jul 4, 2025 Full Review Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com There isn’t much of a story here. And though the sequel adds a few new faces, there aren’t many fully defined characters either. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 4, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) It tries to pack in too much and the main characters don’t get to develop very much. Aug 25, 2025 Full Review Megan Bailey MovieJawn It really pains me that this film isn’t nearly as good as the first one. I’m a big champion for the first film, but the magic seems to have been lost here, either with the change in director, the film’s long time on the shelf, or something else. Aug 19, 2025 Full Review John Stark Mac the Movie Guy It feels like a film interrupted. However, I’m leaning positive for now, believing that the world building here can benefit a third installment. However, the third film could be far more Jurassic World: Dominion, and less The return Of The king. Rated: 61/100 Aug 16, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Chris M This is clickbait and does not have an ending. Don't waste your time. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/09/25 Full Review Martin P Having watched the first movie, I was looking forward to the sequel. It did not disappoint. Great characters and lots of action. Need number 3 now. Hurry up. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 11/08/25 Full Review John U Loved the first film, waited years, excitedly told friends the second was coming out, then - crushing disappointment. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/04/25 Full Review Ben N I thought it was a brilliant sequel and was a shame to see bad reviews. It deserves an immense amount of credit and I’d say it is almost equal to the first! If anything I loved the 2nd more due to the amount of epic intense and engaging fight scenes that 2nd one has! It adds perfect drama to set up for the 3rd (hopeful) movie. I think the plot was well done- despite other people’s criticisms- because it perfectly added Qwyn which was a great character to add and introduced another key villain to beat later on. Each event was also perfectly designed like the nuclear reactor being a trap to lure and capture the immortals. Quite honestly I never write any reviews but it kills to see negativity despite an outstanding first and second film! Great actors, great plot- and an understandable, sequential build and 2 great films so far! Credit to the hard work put in and I really hope that it gets the 3rd movie it deserves! We all need an ending! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/25 Full Review Blacksea F Awaiting the next Movie 😆 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/21/25 Full Review Lúcio Leonardo P Entertainment is what it's not here, being just another forgettable and irritating thing in the Netflix catalog, ending all the charisma that this franchise had in the first film, making us hope that "the old guard" in its second time, retires for good.
