Rendy Jones Autostraddle Everything we thought the first movie would be, only worse. Jul 17, 2025 Full Review Kelechi Ehenulo Empire Magazine Too much distance has crept in for The Old Guard 2 to feel memorable, and it shows. A convoluted, sequel-baiting mess that proves time is not a healer. Rated: 2/5 Jul 4, 2025 Full Review Robert Daniels RogerEbert.com There isn’t much of a story here. And though the sequel adds a few new faces, there aren’t many fully defined characters either. Rated: 1.5/4 Jul 4, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) It tries to pack in too much and the main characters don’t get to develop very much. Aug 25, 2025 Full Review Megan Bailey MovieJawn It really pains me that this film isn’t nearly as good as the first one. I’m a big champion for the first film, but the magic seems to have been lost here, either with the change in director, the film’s long time on the shelf, or something else. Aug 19, 2025 Full Review John Stark Mac the Movie Guy It feels like a film interrupted. However, I’m leaning positive for now, believing that the world building here can benefit a third installment. However, the third film could be far more Jurassic World: Dominion, and less The return Of The king. Rated: 61/100 Aug 16, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Varun k Story does moves forward from 1st part, loved it .. wating for next part Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review Samtte s It seemed very good, a lot of action, the plot held at suspense for all the time, final surprises, a good movie I wait for the third part of the saga. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/07/25 Full Review robby m What a disappointment from an original source so rich with backstory and exposition. As good and rip-roaring the first offering was this sequel only served to make me long for its quality If 3 comes in rapid fashion delving into the subjects Brierly touched on here I'll reconsider this as they needed three hours to give the viewer a greater understanding of why Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/05/25 Full Review Audience Member Complete dreck unfortunately. Mostly filler, blows the one thing any watcher from 1 had on their mind immediately (literally the first scene), nobody is interested in Mr scruffy librarian who lives in a rock, nobody's interested in exactly where everyone was standing in medieval Italy, largely vacant of any suspense. The fight scenes there are have no stakes, and the final fight feels like they're just doing it for sport as the villain's chopper just waits for her to get bored. Not only is the whole movie just barely entertaining while setting up a third movie (which by now I'm dreading), it didn't even pay off its own setup. Andy's axe has no weight. It might as well be a stick. Maybe the most boring movie I've ever seen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/03/25 Full Review Audience Member Not as good as the first one the action had me engaged. Hope the third film be better if Netflix greenlit another sequel Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/02/25 Full Review Steve C Could well be then worst movie I have ever seen. Ends in the middle. For shame. Old Guard 1 was awesome. Producer and director should be fired. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
