09/04/2018 The full story of a major cultural institution and significant public architectural project. High and low truths were masterly woven: stories of the powerful woven with the stories of the fieldworkers. Watching "The Opera House" was like turning over tapestry, and seeing the rich layers of its hidden warp for the first time. Leontyne Price was the fiber which spanned through--from her height as star to the daughter of a diva hanging clothes on a line in Mississippi. Moving and rich. See more 02/03/2018 Bland and promotional in nature, produced by the Metropolitan itself. Wants to have its cake and eat it too: alludes to the destructive and insensitive elimination of low-income housing, while gushing fondly about the Met anyway.
