I have no idea how it had only a score of 30%. I would not have watched it, but my husband doesn't check ratings and it was he who put it on. In a sucker for true stories and really liked this one. Especially interesting that much of the court transcripts were authentic.

It was a compelling enough story to entice me to watch till the end. In spite of the portrayal and production being somewhat well done, the narrative never really gains strength in its delivery. The fact that it is based on true events makes it all the more sad and tragic.

Very structurally flawed film. First act moves very quickly; almost too quickly. Final act drags on forever. The editing was awkward. Many scenes went on a beat (or several beats) too long. Strange cinematography. Overbearing score. Poor acting performances.

RICH'S POPCORN REVIEW on : The Pardon : A good story line , but very poor performance by the actors in this movie just couldn't capture the tragic circumstances that is need to make this story work . I must give this movie a 2 .
