      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It may prove frustratingly slow for some viewers, but more contemplative filmgoers will find themselves rewarded by The Patience Stone's quietly fierce storytelling, as well as a searing starring turn from Golshifteh Farahani.

Sutandy T A beautiful film that pulls on the heart strings. The pace, the story, and the impact of a story told mostly from a single room. The woman's expression of her dreams, fears and everything in between to the man/husband, who otherwise would never sit down two minutes to listen is now forced to do so. She takes every advantage of it to let it ALL out. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member For me, a unique film that shows the war in a 'raw' aspect and the many hidden problems of a problematic society. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Aqueles que não sabem fazer amor, fazem guerra Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this movie. Great story telling every moment. Sadly, it reminded me of my own marriage in the USA. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie is slow for your typical western filmgover but not for those who is familiar with good foreign films. The story telling and the acting was absolutely superb. The intricate family drama was unfolded in a methodical and captivating way. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Quase uma fábula juvenil sobre repressão sexual e a vida em um mundo com poucos momentos de gentileza. Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard A real one-off. Rated: 4/5 Dec 6, 2013 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian By turns mysterious, moving, shocking and explicit - and very different from the kind of opaque and quietist cinema we might expect.
