Audience Member plays like cautionary tale against unsafe sex and STD's Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member A "sexually liberated" woman discovers she's pregnant and then gets to know the four potential fathers. While this movie may think of itself as edgy and modern, initially presenting sex with the insouciance that many post-sixties women and men demonstrate, traditional family values eventually win the day as marriage is the principal dramatic question throughout the film. What the film becomes is rooted in the very mores its characters disavow, and I think it does so unconsciously, as demonstrated by the film's penultimate lines - still embracing "independence" despite its traditional messages. Generically, the film is supposed to be a sex comedy, but it neither titillates nor does it deliver many laughs - maybe a couple chuckles. I liked Karin Anna Cheung; she's charming and pretty, and though some of her lines sound amateurish, there are also quite a few natural moments especially when she is paired with Wison Cruz, who plays his cliched character like a cliche one can believe in. Overall, The People I've Slept With would have been a good film had it been what it intended to be. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Great movie. Contemporary and clever. Love the acting by Karin, Wilson and Archie. Kind of true to life. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member I found this movie absolutely delightful! Funny..Sweet..Witty. Makes one wonder why such a low rating? It was very well done. Really good actors. I really enjoyed this!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a very different sort of movie and I loved it's message. It was nice to see something completely different. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is definitely for the open-minded. Ive read thru the reviews after watching it and noticed the traditional way of thinking for most Americans. I loved the movie. I loved the fact that this time its a woman casted as being the promiscuous one, and a strong person at that, who shows no shame for what she does. In a way, it can be reality (for those who think this type of stuff cant happen, think that its really not that big a deal or that its just not that hard....youre wrong). For those who stay stuck on wondering who the father is, take those blinders off and enjoy the film in its entirety. In my opinion...I give it 2 thumbs up!
