Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson With its long breaths between tipping points, the psychological tone sinks in deep, but its draining length tests the power of its build-up and dances in a few too many circles. Rated: 3/5 Jul 12, 2022 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It's hard to argue with artistic integrity and Purmul has clearly crafted a film of tremendous vision and intentionality. B S No no no...the current score for this movie is well out of touch with reality. Largely down to the miniscule sample size. In reality this is laughably bad and interminable in length. The punishing run time is a clear indication that the director was clueless. The five stories were confused and trite and it's as though the "actors" were largely making it up as they went along. Why is it that these thinly disguised religious, morality movies are always so bad in the same ways? Amateurish acting and direction and just terrible writing? And why hide that it's a Christian movie? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review Randi C Autoplayed after another movie I was watching. Was sceptical at first, but ended up enjoying it Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/18/24 Full Review Linda P With multiple story lines, skillful direction and solid acting, I was remarkably engaged. The only critique I would have is trimming it by 30 min. Still worth the watch! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/20 Full Review william w The Playground is a deftly directed film with multiple story lines. Overall, it works very well. I wondered when I read the review if I would enjoy 'multiple' tales. But each is unique, well written and well acted. And there are some twists so stay tuned. I recommend in a setting with others to talk about the film. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Intriguing, thoughtful, and full of suspense ! A great twist of a story!
