The animation on Zigzag alone, and Vincent Price’s voice performance…just immaculate. The sequence where the thief makes it through the Rube Goldberg death machine is one of the great moments in animation history, too.

I know this one on Rotten Tomatoes is the Miramax version, but thank the lord for that we got the recobbled cut. I can see Richard Williams vision to this film and it's so peak. I love this film, the characters, the animation, and even the soundtrack (even though it's just music from Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade)

It was a lot like the story of Aladdin. However this was made before that. Which makes the animation, the dialogue, and the plot that more amazing.

Extra thicc Him and the cobbler were cool, and some parts like the mechanical stuff looked smooth like CGI, but the pacing sucks. I'd cut half an hour, tone down the camerawork, flies, color filter, and rotoscoped birds, flesh out the abstract backgrounds, and add credit music. Recobbled Mk4 version is 5/10 - Meh. Iznogoud, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Dragon Ball Z, Aladdin, The Lion King (1994), and Modern Times (1936) are better.
