Audience Member From that era when Australian films pushed the envelope a little in terms of quirk. Sure it is a little naff in parts, but Rose Byrne is adorable as Doris Day the scientist, and even Ben Lee become very watchable and perfect as far as the character is concerned (can't help but equate it with his personal life) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Feel good fluff, some laughs, easy to watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I wish I was Gemma. Yep. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is one of the best crackin Aussie movies released in a long time.... Interesting how I always run by rotten tomatoes ratings however this film is more than a splat.... it has a distinct humour to it and Ben Lee is actually made for this role.... Give it a go!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this little gem. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member It's almost there. It's almost a wonderfully quirky, coming of age flick. But there's something that just not right. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Empire Magazine Rated: 2/5 Apr 1, 2006 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star Watching this movie is a bit like going to a dance where the drummer can't keep a steady beat. You think you should be laughing, but you just can't quite bring yourself to. Rated: 2/5 May 28, 2004 Full Review Stephen Cole Globe and Mail An amiable film comedy that leaves you feeling good as opposed to feeling for your wallet. Rated: 3/4 May 28, 2004 Full Review Keith Breese Filmcritic.com a brazen, mischievous look at rebellion Rated: 4/5 Apr 7, 2005 Full Review Matthew Turner ViewLondon Lee makes an engagingly laid-back lead and a bespectacled Rose Byrne is adorable as the geeky girl-next-door. Rated: 5/5 Apr 2, 2005 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall There's an amusingly askance approach to the whole coming-of-age process that keeps us engaged.
