Audience Member Despite numerous comparisons, this is only like Get Carter in terms of premise. Instead, this is an intense character study, arguably more like Harry Brown. Nicol Williamson gives a brilliant portrayal of Michael Marler, a ruthless executive who has built a facade over his background, womanising and propensity for violence. At the death of his father in a brawl, we see this facade start to crumble, until the cracks are plain for all to see. As Marler lurches uncertainly towards the movie's understated climax, Williamson breathes empathy into him, and sympathy for the trap his life has become. Ultimately, the movie's question is not whether he will find revenge, but whether he can make peace with himself. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
