Joe Corny acting & looked totally fake. We took our 11 year old niece to it & she thought it was terrible. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/26/21 Full Review NWSBurger Didnt these guys check their work? Editing left in snippets where Lex speaks but theres no audio, and it happened multiple times in a few minutes! The ending was abrupt and felt thrown together when a deadline was imminent. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/25/21 Full Review DF Not scary. At all. Poorly made movie. Total waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/24/21 Full Review Tammy The movie was awful! A definite waste of money! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/02/21 Full Review u plot is fine , story progresses way to slowly , and the audio quality is terrible , if the mic isn't cutting out from the wind or being muffled by clothes , the characters are being talked over by people who are supposed to be in the background , i can barely make out what there saying half the time , also the main characters are complete idiots and the constant time jumps make it hard to follow the story Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Matt P The chemistry between a group of friends who date which we see so much in American horror movies is quite poor at times and the acting is fairly weak. But I'm sure regardless as to the reviews, these actors will do well and get cast again and make something else similar. What's the point in discussions about performance and direction when no film maker ever learns? Look, the movie itself starts slow and then you're sort of thrown into a bit of chaos. Like one of them being written off, but the way they get there to the action is too sudden and sort of doesn't fit. A realistic bunch of typical American waffle and a few flashes of a bra is cliche, as too is the desperate and rushed attempts to frighten us part way through. But all round the movie isn't bad. They're sone decent stuff plenty of jump scares and a sort of realistic feel to the movie until the horror begins. There's a resort which was destroyed and shows a part of Hawaii that doesn't look anything like the real place with no one at all around, there's the ridiculous dialogue and hormonal young ones, an eerie abandoned hotel where they had plenty of space to act and some of the stuff is fairly good considering the usual stuff we watch, but this should have been far better and the actors could have focussed less on the silly dialogue and more on what the movie genre was about. Alison Herman The Ringer The Resort’s straightforwardness seems to free up its goofier side, starting with the performances. Jul 30, 2022 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian This inane horror movie is so ludicrously cliche-ridden one starts to wonder if it's not some kind of sophisticated meta-joke being played on us. Rated: 1/5 Apr 30, 2021 Full Review Jenny Nulf Austin Chronicle The direction for the actors is aimless, scattered, and hollow. They mouth inaudible things to each other while another character is talking, distract when they are supposed to be in the background, and lack any sort of chemistry. Rated: 1/5 Apr 29, 2021 Full Review Dallas King Outtake Mag The Resort offers a fright-filled mini-break, but ultimately fails to deliver a truly memorable time. Do not expect a glowing review on TripAdvisor! Rated: 2/5 Nov 12, 2022 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It’s hamstrung by a tiny budget and hampered by a script that doesn’t have enough ideas of its own to fill the movie’s lean 70-minute running time. Rated: 1.5/5 Aug 17, 2022 Full Review John Serba Decider Save for a couple instances of ooey-gooey practical makeup FX, the film fails on every level. Aug 2, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews
