Kate Muir Times (UK) Return to Homs is a shocking, visceral documentary made among young Syrian fighters under siege from President Assad's snipers in the devastated city of Homs. Rated: 4/5 Jul 7, 2014 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian Admittedly, there are a lot of documentaries like this, made by citizen journalists recording uprisings in their homelands, but this is one of the best of the recent crop, and a timely reminder of a conflict that's slipped out of the headlines of late. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2014 Full Review Sophie Monks Kaufman Little White Lies Captures with great immediacy the gallows that is war and the humour that is human. Rated: 4/5 Jun 26, 2014 Full Review D.W. Mault CineVue Return to Homs is completely unflinching in its gaze upon what it's like to be in the middle of an seemingly unending battle for a daily existence that wants to reside in dignity. Rated: 4/5 Mar 26, 2019 Full Review Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film The film has been impressively edited by Anne Fabini, so that despite the inevitable rough and ready nature of some of the footage captured under fire, the end result feels taut and cohesive. Rated: 4/5 May 25, 2015 Full Review Sophie Ivan Total Film Provides an unflinching insider's view of the Syrian conflict which has killed thousands and forced millions from their homes since 2011. markus m An intimate and thought-provoking documentary that shows how even those of us who are pacifists may turn to violence as the answer when it's the only one you're left with, and that puts things in perspective when you realize how horrifically different the daily lives of those not in the Western world are. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member With great, front line access of the rebel attempt to hold Homs during the siege of Homs. It is relevant and as recent and important history as one can get. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
