The Rip seems highly possible until its overblown climatic end, but even when it succumbs to the action thriller norms, it and the cast always keeps you thoroughly entertained. Go to Full Review

Joe Carnahan's crime thriller feels like a nice throwback to '90s genre pictures, but it pulls a few too many punches. Go to Full Review

I was entertained, even if for the longest stretches I couldn’t have told you who was doing what to whom. Chalk it up as yet another twist in the tale of Matt ‘n’ Ben – two Yin/Yang talents who will be yoked together for eternity. Go to Full Review

This movie has a lot of problems...particularly with how slow it is. You get some decent performances from Damon and Affleck but most of the scenes felt empty. Go to Full Review

With a cast of this caliber, this should have been a stronger film. It felt dumbed down and like they held their punches. Go to Full Review

Maybe if Carnahan took advantage of the Damon-Affleck chemistry, injecting some comic relief, the film would be more entertaining. He doesn't. Go to Full Review

Scott S @RT47940534 16h I thought it was great. I guess many/most didn't like it, but I think too many people have ridiculous expectations. Solid entertainment IMO. See more Rui F @RuiOfTheDead 1d THE RIP (2026) is a solid addition to the list of films that take place almost entirely in a single night, bringing together a group of hard-ass detectives to face a rough situation that will have them question their morals. More importantly, it’s another strong entry in the list of collaborations between two soulmates known as Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. See more steve C @RT08152457 1d Start to finish this movie has you coming up with multiple conclusions on the plot twists. Whilst a semi predictable ending, the journey getting there is layered with enough suspense and misdirection to keep you engaged throughout. RIP does a solid job of building tension, steadily revealing clues without giving too much away too soon, allowing the audience to feel clever when pieces finally fall into place. The performances feel grounded and believable, helping sell the emotional weight behind the mystery, even when the story flirts with familiar territory. Strong pacing is one of the film’s biggest strengths, rarely dragging and knowing exactly when to escalate the stakes. Although seasoned thriller fans may spot certain turns ahead of time, the execution makes up for it, delivering a satisfying and thought-provoking watch that lingers after the credits roll. See more Victor H. @victorhworth 2d The plot may be kinda worn out, but The Rip has enough plot twists to keep the action going. Very well done! See more Maciej W @RT51745507 3d Garbage hollywood flick. Watched 20min, stopped for 2 weeks, came back and regretted it. Honestly only watched for Damon and Affleck, but this was not enough to make it a worthwhile watch. See more Fabiano Henrique F @fabigol21 4d Despite its pacing limitations, the film remains interesting until the end, employing cliché dynamics in a creative way. See more Read all reviews
