I was entertained, even if for the longest stretches I couldn’t have told you who was doing what to whom. Chalk it up as yet another twist in the tale of Matt ‘n’ Ben – two Yin/Yang talents who will be yoked together for eternity.

The ingredients are all there. And certainly, The Rip delivers frequently entertaining bursts thanks largely to the game cast, but it’s not a particularly cohesive whole and leaves a lot of the firecracker potential at the door.

Can’t believe Affleck and Damon, given their pedigree, produced this drivel. Maybe they were trying to pull a fast one on Netflix and succeeded. There is absolutely nothing to recommend here. The writing and execution is so amateurish that even B movies are made better. It’s been a long time since I watched a bad movie and somehow all the reviews suckered me into watching this. Such a RIP off!

This movie wasn’t made for everybody, which is what makes it good. Straight up, if you’re a millennial man who loved the buddy cops of the 90s/Y2K - you’ll enjoy this flick. You can tell Damon and Affleck steered it into just an old school buddy cop mystery. I’d like to see more of these types of plot-driven films so it’s definitely a recommend for me!
