Cole Baird (Ben Winchell) has everything -- a beautiful wife, successful career, large home and fancy toys. Behind the façade, however, is a man trapped by his surroundings and falling ever behind in the pursuit of his life's dream. Not strong enough to confront his father's expectations, he left his true love, his best friend and a fulfilling small-town life to embark on a legal career -- intent, one day, to return. Dinos K Empty philosophy about happiness and the purpose of life. It offers nothing new, nothing different Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Jerome V Beautifully shot movie. Poetic view of small-town life. Reminiscent of "Our Town." All of the supporting characters' lives have impact and carry a lot of weight. The main character is transformed by the people around him. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/26/24 Full Review Shock Therapy R This film carried many sophisticated themes on its back for the full duration. Unfortunately they imploded under the weight of a Hallmark-style/Nicolas Sparks-style delivery. The widow of so-many-months suddenly is open to her first love, is convenient. The managing partner who committed to the firm a few months previous is now sticking a flag in his tiny hometown to fight big business. There are too many superheroes and too many villains for this to be real. The real takeaway is that innumerable martyrs have complicated the field for the living by doing disingenuous things, rather than listening to ones whom they claimed to love. This was a fabricated and convoluted conflict story based upon the sum ignorance of mortals. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/13/23 Full Review chris b Inspirational story about following your dreams set against a gorgeous rural backdrop! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review WIlliam H The casting was excellent; the story is told as much in imagery as it is in words. There are a lot of very heart-wrenching moments throughout the movie. The opening is very key, so watch it carefully. A wonderful story about growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and where life takes you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/22 Full Review Adam H Galena, Maryland a hour and a half from Philly and Baltimore. Less than a hour from Wilmington, De. It is barely country. You can literally jump on a train to Washington, Dc. It sings praises of things being green and seeing wild horses but you are literally 2-3 hours away from Washington, DC, Baltimore, All of Virginia, and philly. These small towns are just as corrupt and nepotism matters. Just because you don't see doesn't mean it isn't there(grew up in the area) Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/27/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Keizer AV Club A movie of tropes and clichés that argues, with generic earnestness and a near-total lack of surprise, that the city is a corrupting influence compared to the nurturing, sun-drenched simplicity of the country. Rated: C- Jul 8, 2022 Full Review Jordan Bond Film Threat The film is well-made, with beautiful cinematography, very fine acting, and great direction. Rated: 7/10 Jan 31, 2024 Full Review Ronak Kotecha ReviewRon This one's at best, a decent slice of the present day human experience in a rapidly changing world. Rated: 2.5/5 Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Steven Warner In Review Online Ultimately, no one is done any favors by The Road to Galena, least of all its audience members; if only Hall had learned that being this cruelly condescending is a rich man’s game. Jul 26, 2022 Full Review Anne Brodie What She Said Thankfully not sappy, it’s a tough story with situations that represent corporate greed, economic constraints, and the validity of working for a dream of wealth, cars, mansions, and the cost of “the good life”. Jul 13, 2022 Full Review Joel Copling Spectrum Culture As written and performed, Ben Winchell’s Cole is an inconsistent character and a mostly reactive presence.
