William L It was a truly amazing experience about three acquaintances that are just trying to get through there problems. A emotional roller coaster full of laughter and tears. All of the actors played their roles perfectly, and I think the movie should have more praise then what everyone thinks. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review Stephanie L Absolutely loved this movie, definitely a movie to remember. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/27/23 Full Review Nikki M As a sufferer of OCD, this portrayal was borderline offensive. So much screaming, so many stereotypes, so much anger - OCD is so internal, so much to do with thought and physical symptoms over loud yells of cleanliness and order. Although we can afford the film a little forgiveness as it came out in 2014, it doesn't do anything to help break the stereotypes of this particular mental illness. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/19/23 Full Review Mary W This movie does not capture at all what most people suffering from Tourette Syndrome goes through. I also think this movie had 0 character development. Overall , 5/10 , mostly cause of the main actor performance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/22/22 Full Review Shannon Absolutely love Robert Sheehan. An amazing actor and performance! Bravo! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/22 Full Review isla s This film is ok but it doesn't exactly cover new ground and its not especially memorable. The comedy is pretty obvious - there's the guy with Tourettes who swears, using very strong language regularly and a character with OCD who has very rigid rules and doesn't like to be put in unpredictable situations. The characters are somewhat quirky and likeable despite these traits. As road films go, its ok. I liked that there is a sense of freedom within it but it still felt a bit too predictable for my liking overall. I liked that the adult characters were put in some funny situations though and it was pretty watchable and entertaining regardless. I wouldn't go out of your way to see this film, no. Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle The presentation of Tourette's syndrome may be authentic, but everything else about the movie - the emotions, the characters, the situations - rings false. Rated: 1/4 Apr 23, 2015 Full Review Rex Reed Observer he Road Within backfires by emphasizing the same quirks and imbalances it seeks to soften. Reducing it to the genre of idiot comedy doesn't advance the cause, either. Rated: 1/4 Apr 22, 2015 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times "The Road Within" suffers from midfilm wandering and a hasty ending, but the message of self-acceptance rings true and clear. Apr 16, 2015 Full Review Morgan Rojas Cinemacy If you're interested in a film for character study, The Road Within is a good start. Nov 9, 2018 Full Review Jennifer Heaton Alternative Lens A little clichéd and overdramatic at points, but features some great performances from Robert Sheehan, Dev Patel and Robert Patrick. Rated: 7/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Punch Drunk Critics The Road Within is ultimately feel-good, the characters certainly diverse in their personalities as well as their disorders, and the underlying message isn't too heavy-handed.
