When two high-profile private investigators, Eddie J. Kildane (Rod Cameron) and Wally Quayle (Frank McHugh), leave their firm to start their own agency, they take a job from millionaire Norman Hampton. They're hired to locate Hampton's daughter, Penelope (Ella Raines), who recently ran away to elope. While in pursuit, the detectives learn their old boss, Louis Prentiss (Broderick Crawford), is also on Penelope's trail. Kildane and Quayle must race to find Penelope and bring her home safely.

Synopsis When two high-profile private investigators, Eddie J.
