11/25/2012 would definitely watch it again! See more 05/18/2009 Living under the Franco dictatorship wouldn't have been much fun for most Spaniards, but thanks to the "Law for Vagabonds and Delinquents", even less so for suspected crims, who were incarcerated in psychiatric hospitals. It is here that we witness the blossoming romance between Mateo and Lola. Much injustice and hardship ensues. There's corruption of power, dollops of repression and all the while the camera lingers lovingly on the extremely delectable Hugo Silva. Hugo won me over in the early 00s in the Spanish TV series, Al Salir De Clase, which was kind of a Madrid version of Beverly Hills 90120. Its good to see him starring in a feature film, and all those scenes of him in various states of undress were totally justified, since his character was, after all, leading staff and patients alike into inappropriate temptation. My only quibble is the jaunty folk music. Bagpipes are never a good idea on a film soundtrack. Never. I wait impatiently for The Sandman 2. Less bagpipes. More Hugo. See more 05/08/2009 It's an interesting film. See more 04/06/2009 Me ha parecido muy tierna.Hasta ahora nunca había visto un psiquiatrico español de los años 50 en el cine,me ha impresionado mucho el cartel que anuncia la zona donde viven las enfermas..Están todos los actores estupendos. See more 02/01/2009 That was very emotional movie for me. I haven't seen such in a long time. Hope U will like it also :) See more Read all reviews
