It’s categorized as a comedy, does start out as that, but is hardly that. Some might consider it a bit predictable (most of us like predictable really) but the story is endearing and draws you in. I sure wish life was like this all the time; where the scoundrel gets what he deserves. The acting was convincing, the relationships seemed real. Now I want to read the book. It juxtaposes big, global events with the minutiae of the lives of members of an English family. It succeeds in involving the viewer's own sense of morality as it builds connection and emotion to more than one of the story's characters.
