Audience Member The Secret Lives of dorks is an OK comedy about a shy nerdy guy asking nerdy girls to school dance. To me it's too similar to other movies so I just say it's okay. Jennifer Tilly and James Belushi stars in this movie. C (2014) Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a sweet and completely ridiculous story about a young dork's quest for love. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member The film had style and actual potential (even if it's incredibly outdated for a 2013 flick), but no amount of good ideas can save the trainwreck that is the direction and the script. You can learn something from this movie, directors: never go with your first instinct and always consult with script doctors. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Starts a little slow then really takes off. Like all of the main characters, fun high school movie for younger audiences, and great appearances from Belushi, Tilly and a cameo from the NFL for older audiences. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty much your standard teen love story. Highly predictable. I could have done with less of the comic exposition and the barf. Noel Murray The Dissolve It has a good heart and a good cast...But the movie is strenuously, exhaustingly unfunny, in a way that makes its phoniness harder to bear. Rated: 2/5 Sep 30, 2013 Full Review Neil Genzlinger New York Times There's no way to prepare yourself for how awful "The Secret Lives of Dorks" is. Rated: 0/5 Sep 26, 2013 Full Review Annlee Ellingson Los Angeles Times Johnny Severin and Nicholas David Brandt's ... clever and original script takes an unexpected turn at nearly every intersection, resulting in a funny and big-hearted coming-of-age romance. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 26, 2013 Full Review Ron Wilkinson It's Just Movies If you are ready for some laughs and almost inhumanly able to go along with the jokes, you will chuckle now and then in spite of yourself. Rated: 5/10 Nov 6, 2013 Full Review David Noh Film Journal International Another entry in the "Why Should We Care?" department, The Secret Lives of Dorks feels like something we have all been through too many times before. Oct 14, 2013 Full Review S. Jhoanna Robledo Common Sense Media Tedious teen comedy hits every high school clique cliche. Rated: 2/5 Sep 29, 2013 Full Review Read all reviews
