Jack T The auteur theory only works if the filmmaker is a genuine cinematic artist. The Mansfields are no such dou, as writers, director, and producer of this film. Someone really should have stepped in to say it's an inchoerent mess. Theo and Frank have escaped a ship, where they were impressed into service in 1810. Washed ashore and desperately in love, they take refuge in the park of a large country manor. While hiding out, they explore the woods and each other. There are some ver tasteful sex scene, but almost no chemistry between the two leads, who appear thoroughly modern despite their period wardrobe, Theo keeps seeing things, and hearing things, and we get glimpses of his ghosts. But nothing is ever frightening, or enriching tot he plot. Lodas of art direction, but nothing cohesive, coherent, or compelling. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/27/24 Full Review Audience Member This Movie isn't even B grade. It is something that you could miss. The voices the actors use is annoying to say the least. Scenery looks like they used the same for everything with some hand camera scenes added in. Feels like the first documented case of PTSD. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
