A parade of talking heads, augmented by stock footage and photomontage for the bulk of the Sheik's wrestling days. Go to Full Review

It's a fascinating look at a fascinating man- at times, unintentionally so. Go to Full Review

More of a commercial for the wrestler than a true overview of life-shaping events, but the documentary scores in intimate moments and interviews. Go to Full Review

Director Igal Hecht has pulled together a compelling film about an extraordinary man. There are moments of true heartbreak and tragedy mixed with wild road stories and the Iron Sheik's trademark over-the-top personality. Go to Full Review

Harrison R @emailaddress 05/25/2023 Interesting seeing how his Twitter staff/the filmmakers saved The Sheik's life. Who knew there was a solution to the post-wrestling blues? See more 06/24/2021 With so many stories it'd be hard not to make an entertaining film See more 01/15/2021 Holy flip bubba I'll put you in the camel clutch and make you humble. This is a phenomenal wrestling documentary about the true world champion the iron sheik. I can't believe it's taken me this long to watch this documentary. I love everything professional wrestling and seeing a true legend getting shunned by the business for substance abuse and traveling with a baby face wrestler. It sucks but those rules are never meant to be broken. Kayfabe in wrestling is very sacred and it should never be broken. But anyway I enjoyed seeing the iron sheik go though live as an old wrestler who turned into a influencer on Twitter and YouTube. I follow the iron sheik on Twitter cause duh you got too and he to this day is still making hilarious jokes everyday. Even seeing him still struggle with substance abuse in his life after wrestling is sad but I'm glad that he got over it and moved on with his life. He went through a lot of stuff man and after watching this, he may be the ultimate bad guy but I want to give him a hug for staying strong. The iron sheik is a true and legend and will never be forgotten. I highly highly recommend this phenomenal documentary. Good job bubba. See more 08/21/2019 A very interesting story here, the unfortunate thing is that the film occasionally made Sheik look like a colossal jerk, and I guess he is, but that fact took away a lot of my enjoyment of it. See more 07/16/2016 Iron Sheik, number-one! This documentary, hack-phooey! Khosrow Vaziri, better known as The Iron Sheik, is an interesting individual, who has lived a fascinating life. From being an Olympic wrestler, to being a bodyguard for the Shah of Iran, to having a Hall of Fame career in professional wrestling as one of the most hated villains of all-time (including a stint as WWF Champion) to becoming a social media icon; any one of those accomplishments could be the subject of it's own documentary. This documentary, The Sheik, attempts to cram 72 years of Vaziri's life into 95 minutes... an impossible task. The Sheik had the feel of being a Cliff's Notes version of a life worthy of an epic novel. For example, Vaziri endures a unfathomable tragedy in his personal life, becomes addicted to crack cocaine, miraculously overcomes his addiction, and reinvents himself as a crazy (but likeable) character with a HUGE social media following leading to him becoming a fixture on The Howard Stern Show... all in the span of 10 minutes! Having followed The Iron Sheik's career for over 30 years, I knew his story going in. I didn't really learn anything new about him. I suppose it would serve as a nice primer for someone unfamiliar with The Iron Sheik and his story, but for wrestling fans, it was nothing new. See more Read all reviews
