Jeffrey P Seemed like an idea for a movie that could have worked but something was 'off'', it felt rushed, and the execution wasn't good. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review Pheasant W If you want to feel sick, but also like "fuxk. That's reality". This is the movie for you. I was absolutely disgusted. The character Mason Washington was the only redeemable character. Maybe the producer chick. Maybe. And his family were a bunch of ungrateful assholes. The wife held him over the coals and threatened to leave him and take the kids cuz he was struggling to keep a roof over his head. He was demeaned, disrespected and insulted, even by his own family. Wow. Made me sick. And it also made me sick the unfair, unjust system that put him in that position. Josh Duhamel was pure evil. Total bullshiz artist. Total hypocrite. This movie was creepy as well, because all I can think is— THIS WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY. I think the critics and audience hated this one because it made them think that this could actually happen in our sick society. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Teeba C A bad Lifetime movie. How did this get made? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/22/23 Full Review Green C Only because of Giancarlo Esposito do I give it any stars. This story is so morbid and absurd it should be outlawed. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/21/23 Full Review Pawe D The film touching sensitive topic- suicide, and how likely are we to watch others death. I think its not the best picture, but definitely don't deserve low rating, especially because of Giancarlo Esposito performance, with was great as always. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member This film is so good and undeserving of the low score it has on here. All the comparisons to Hunger Games show a small minded perspective. There's room for more than one dystopian movie about reality television and morally responsible entertainment. Also it's not hypocritical in that this film looks at exploiting the suffering of real people, which these actors are not. If this film was criticizing people enjoying fictional pain, why that would remove most entertainment, wouldn't it? Certainly would remove all horror movies. This reminds me a little of The Running Man except that instead of a thriller, this went in a more realistic drama route, and the film does an excellent job of exploring this subject in a way that feels very true to life. The acting was fantastic and parts of this film made me cry. I hope others give this movie a chance despite the rating. A severely underrated film. Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times Neither sharp enough to qualify as satire nor emotional enough to be a standard drama, "The Show" exists in film purgatory. Sep 14, 2017 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Hollywood Reporter Early promise quickly evaporates once the film sheds its smirk and turns increasingly sanctimonious. Mar 21, 2017 Full Review Kahron Spearman Austin Chronicle Placing the obvious philosophical hypocrisies aside, the film's ultimate issues lie in motivations, the film's and each of the characters. Mar 13, 2017 Full Review Patrick Cavanaugh The Wolfman Cometh A bizarre melodrama featuring normally skilled actors struggling to turn the concept into anything noteworthy.
