« The silent child” is a movie directed by Chris Overton . The leads actors are Rachel Fielding, who plays the role of Sue, the mother, Philip York who plays Paul, the dad, and Rachel Shenton , who plays Joanne. It is her the writer of this story. The film introducing Maisie Sly , who plays Libby. The film tells a story of a deaf little girl , who had to learn lip, reading, and sign language with her assistant, Joanne. For me, the acting is incredible. The little girl convey very well the live of her character. The acting is very natural and believable. That shows a real story of a family in difficulties with their deaf child. In this movie, there are a lot of close-up to show the feelings of Libby and how she learned lip reading. But the dull colors make a sad atmosphere. The message of this film is to sensibilisate people for sign language, because it is must be recognized all over the world. For me, this is really convincing. So I recommended this film, but not for too emotional people, because the end is really sad. I really enjoy it!

The Silent Child is a movie written by Rachel Shenton and directed by Chris Overton.
I really enjoy this short film, it’s really poignant and it make me feel different emotions during all the screen time such as happiness and sadness.
The play of all the actors is really great such as Maisie Sly who plays the Libby’s deafness really weel.
I found all of the bike’s scene haves a great cinematography with the following camera effect.
I found that the movie is a bit dark like the weather with the grey sky and the colour panel in general is pretty dark.
It may represent the sadness and loneliness that the movie represent about problems that deaf people can experience.
The movie’s soundtrack is really well made with melancholic songs and sometimes in complete silence it may represent Libby’s deafness when she can’t hear anything.
This short film is really emotional, I found the school scene really sad when the poor Libby can’t practice the hearing test and when she is alone in the playground.
I found all of the scenes when Libby is trying to learn the sign language with Joanne it’s full of kindness I really enjoy it.
The message of the movie of every person deaf or not are all the same and that they can do exactly the same as a hearing child is very pretty and strong.
I give it a 4 stars for that.
And i hope that you enjoy it the same as i do !

The story is about Libby, a deaf girl, young and who doesn't interact a lot. To resolve this problem, Sue, her mother, will get an aid for her: Joanne.
She will teach to Libby the sign language and play with her to make her more interactive. You'll learn the story of this girl and her friendship with her aid during the film.
This film was made to sensibilize people about deaf people and fight to get helped, like at school life, by getting aids at school or having a special teacher in sign language.
I liked the film for this purpose. I like when people are helping other people.
The color and sad theme was also great, fitting the story, even if it was touching and sad.
I think you should watch it. I loved the kindness showed by it.
You only get a taste of what being deaf is, and it’s great. A nice way to start to like people about sensitizing.

This movie is entitled The Silent Child, directed by Chris Overton, it's a drama movie genre and this story is very sad. The Silent Child tell the story of a child who don't hear anything and learn the sign language but her mother at the ending decide to stop the class and Libby is going to school.
Actors are very good, they played very well especially Rachel Sheraton and Marie Sly, the teacher and the child, the connexion between them is very successful. I think that the actriz Rachel Fielding may be more aggressive against the child. The camera angles are very interesting, tracking shot at the begining or long shot for the ending with the teacher and the child connexion. I think that this film is the best drama movie genre and if you like this movie genre you may see this story very sadly, its very successful. In conclusion, you can saw this short movie, the actors played very well, the filming techniques are very correct (light, song, costumes, and others). I will see others drama movie genre like that because the scenario is very impressive

The title of this film is The Silent Child, directed by Danny Conoray and produced by Vanessa Schonnene and Rachael Shenton.
The story is about a young girl named Libby. She is deaf and 5 years old. Her mother hires Joanne, a social worker, to help Libby learn to communicate better. Throughout the film, we see Libby’s progress with the help of Joanne through sign language, and the little girl becomes much happier.
Sue, the mother, is played by Rachel Fielding, a good actress in my opinion. In the film, she plays the role of a mother who wants the best for her daughter, but not in the right way.
Maisie Sly plays Libby. I found her really convincing in the role. You could truly believe that she is deaf. I was really impressed.
I liked the colors in the film. They used dark tones, like grey and brown, which matched the environment and the mood. It’s not very bright or cheerful, especially when Libby is with her family.
Personally, I really enjoyed watching this film. It’s sad and almost made me cry, especially when we learn that Libby will not continue learning sign language. That part of the story surprised me a lot. The story was touching. Libby’s character and her relationship with Joanne were so cute. They didn’t deserve this ending. Finally, I appreciated the message at the end of the film.
Deaf children often receive very little support in schools, which is unfair to them. I hope this film helped raise awareness and had a real impact.

The Silent Child is a heartbreaking and powerful short film about Libby, a deaf girl misunderstood by her own family. When Joanne teaches her sign language, Libby finally connects with the world — only to have that taken away.
It’s a raw reminder that she was never silent — she was just not heard.
A must-watch that speaks volumes in just minutes.
