What is the source of the romanticization and nostalgia? ...It is a longing that is especially evident in mainstream films like "The Silent Revolution," for simpler days, when it was possible to distinguish between the good guys and the bad guys.

Das schweigende Klassenzimmer, ist ein Film über eine Abiturkasse in der DDR, die im Unterricht eine illegale Schweigeminute anlässlich des Ungarischen Volksaufstands 1956 eingerichtet. Darauf geraten sie im Blick der Volkspolizei zu Staatsfeinden. Lars Kraume (Drehbuch und Regie) inszeniert den Film mit Feingefühl um den Widerstand einer Gruppe Zeitlos darzustellen.

I am a student and I live in a country. I am in a dilemma of immigrating for a better life or staying in a country with an undemocratic government. This movie was very painful for me because it was as if I was referring to my own life.

Yes ok, it is an interesting little story, but let's be honest: most of the charm comes from "Dawson Creek" meets "Dead Poets Society" kind-of-vibe, and all the dramas involved!

A really good movie in my opinion. Actors are incredibly good. Even if the production is classic and a bit traditionnal, this movie is able to touch the spectator. Also, the soundtracks are a masterpiece.
