Audience Member Besides having the creepiest character designs ever, the smurfs doesn't offer anything special to the table, and has the most predictable plot of any kids film I've seen. How funny it was was that the Smurfs were not stuck in the past since they had came to New York in modern times. More funny moments were that they could break the 4th with real life settings the Smurfs try to blend in with 🔵 brand advertisements, Grouchy Smurf fell in love with a 🟢 M&M mascot. In addition, they realised they were produced by Peyo according to a book. The heartfelt moments were when they impacted real peoples lives such as when the accidental 🔵🌕 advertisment for Anjelou had a beautiful meaning, don't leave things that happened from a 🔵🌕 time behind, they matter. The final part was the casting, which involved Jonathan Winters (OG voice of Papa Smurf), Katy Perry (voice of Smurfette), the Winslows who are Neil Patrick Harris & Jayla. The best part was Hank Azaria as Gargamel. Here's another 100-word, 2.5-star review with a fresh take: I was raised on Smurfs—Saturday mornings, sticky cereal fingers, flipping through those old comics. So yeah, I showed up when this hit theaters. The village looked amazing, and Hank Azaria nailed Gargamel more than I ever expected. Neil Patrick Harris does his thing, but dragging the Smurfs into the real world? Meh. Felt like a weird crossover episode nobody asked for. The jokes bounce between kinda funny and eye-roll. It’s not terrible, just not what a Smurf fan dreams of. Give me a full movie *in* the Smurf village next time. Less New York, more mushroom houses, please.
