Evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) has plagued the happy, peaceful Smurfs for a very long time. Finally, he succeeds in chasing the little blue people from their village and through a magic portal -- which transports them to Manhattan and into the life of ad executive Patrick Winslow (Neil Patrick Harris). Critics Consensus

The Smurfs assembles an undeniably talented cast of voice actors and live-action stars -- then crushes them beneath a blue mound of lowest-common-denominator kiddie fare.

Peyo's much cherished creations do little to nothing for me, and I can't say spending a 102-minutes with them in a live action-computer animated hybrid was all that high on my personal to-do list. Go to Full Review

The Smurfs will likely be the best, most enjoyable kid film of 2011. And, yes, adults have been catered for. Dive in. Go to Full Review

Devlin W @ARandomMovieReviewer 6d You don’t need to listen to my rating. I guess it’s good but dosent get the full 4 stars. See more Blu B Dec 2 I've never seen the beloved kids show...but even I can tell you the misunderstanding of the source material here is beyond horrific. Not shocked this is Sony also. Sony bad movies are really a special kind of bad. I wonder how Dennis felt turning this in. Like was he proud of this...because this is the same dude who would go on to make Showdogs. The jokes here are just...the lowest common denominator before you hit the "Movie" Movie humor level. The product placements are out of control here. The Guitar Hero scene kind of sums up what's wrong with this film in a nutshell. I can't even imagine how someone who grew up with this must be beyond angry watching it. The bad guy not only is terrible but he looks cheap also. Like a step above Spirit Halloween stuff. They also really make no attempt at introducing any character here. They clearly assume you've seen the show. (aka Suicide Squad 2016) The idea of putting them in a Enchanted style fish out of water idea could work but my god. See more Kimberly A. @kinakim Nov 3 I like the movíe, But this skin some part’s of the movie. See more Emma C Nov 1 Have seen the movie way to many times but it will always be a awsome one See more Lukas C Oct 16 I owe this movie an apology. Before I said, "It was the worst." But when I saw Smurfs, it was way worse than this. See more Ry R. @AACC-Critic-YT Sep 1 Just mediocre..but it puts so much stuff in your face very uncomfortably! The CGI ain’t that good Etheir but, I can see where it works. Just, I don’t have too much bad stuff to say about it, so I can call it full-on bad, but the Smurfs (2011) has major flaws that keep it far from being good. See more Read all reviews
