Critics Consensus

The Smurfs assembles an undeniably talented cast of voice actors and live-action stars -- then crushes them beneath a blue mound of lowest-common-denominator kiddie fare.

molly k Back in 13 year ago 2011 the first time I understand since I was pre teen and the movie is a bad movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/12/24 Full Review Daquiavius F why is this so low? smurfs is the greatest peice of media ever concieved, for a world without smurfs is a world i dont want to live in Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/17/24 Full Review Sabrina T I personally love the movie. It brings me back to a lot of my childhood with a touch of modern feel to it. What I love about the movie is the time taken to individualize smurf movements (they're not all identical and their simple movements have individual personality (the voice actors do such a good job). The interactions of characters feels natural (within the realm of character realities). I also enjoy the story line with the quippy jokes and banter. The biggest thing for me is Hank Azaria's commitment to the character of Gargamel. Every movement is so fun and energetic and there so much expression in his face. Overall, it's a very fun movie that has a little adult humor and is enough for children to remain entertained throughout. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Anderson O The animation to the Smurfs were interesting, but I found it somewhat fun. The reveal of the Smurfs to humans was a good start. But overall it was meh and some elements where as good as they where going to be. The Smurfs is definitely kid fun that passes the time with slightly memorial but generic characters.
