"The characters are so one-dimensional that the film appears to flounder when asked to provide any secondary features of them beyond the single adjective identifiers that would fit on a pitch card: autistic, prostitute, grandmother, pimp, boss..." Go to Full Review

Sappy and preachy to a fault, the melodrama The Sound of Violet pushes the sexist message that a woman who’s a sex worker can’t be happy unless she’s rescued by a man with enough money to take care of her. The Sound of Violet is completely tone-deaf. Go to Full Review

Shelly W May 7, 2022 I read the book and loved the movie. I appreciated how it showed a new perspective on the struggles of dating and finding the perfect mate for everyone. Understanding how people face different challenges in their lives. It's a sweet and serious love story. See more Joe May 7, 2022 Holy Hell this is a bad movie. This wouldn't make the cut for a Hallmark movie. See more Michelle W May 4, 2022 Eye opening and heart felt See more Mary May 2, 2022 Amazing story. So good. Great acting and true love. Went with family member in their early 20s who also thought it was Amazing. See more Janice W May 1, 2022 I liked the chemistry between the two leads. It a lot of heart. A bit farfetched in the storyline with the grandma accepting the grand daughter in law with her past. Also her seeming to like the doorman. All in all I thought it was a enjoyable film to pass the time. See more Antoine May 1, 2022 Must see!!! Engaging, heartwarming, and one of the best movies Ive seen in a long, long time.
