The former disciples interviewed here, now mostly professionals or entrepreneurs in New Agey businesses, seem frank about their leader's excesses, but the wild subject matter cries out for a more objective treatment. Go to Full Review

Aye E Jul 24 This is pretty well done, I really enjoyed it. Incredible footage and good interviews. It could've been longer, with more fleshed out info about the leader, some of the followers, as well as the last phase of the cult. I also suspect there was more darkness there that wasn't explored. It was refreshing to see a cult that didn't end with the followers being killed and the leader to have some honest revelations after all the craziness. See more 03/10/2017 Admirably even handed, informational assemblage on the Los Angeles based hippie-era cult works on a grand and intimate scale. See more 03/10/2017 There's something insanely engrossing about seeing real footage of cults. Stemming from the suburban paranoia of the fifties, cults have always been seen as the black hole from which engaged, bright teenagers disappear forever. Legions of drug addicted, listless, pothead young people, flocked to the arms of the omnipotent Father Yod, leader of the Source Family; who are the subjects of this documentary.
