The CGI is behind it's time and the plot is okay it just feels like the script was made in 2 days and the characters are overall to confident in the movie they should expect some challenges

The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water stands as the strongest entry among the SpongeBob feature films, even if it still carries some of the franchise’s familiar struggles. Like most SpongeBob movies, it feels disjointed from the TV series, opting for a standalone story that never fully captures the tight charm of the show. That said, this film earns credit for its creativity, especially with the blend of 2D animation and live-action superhero-style sequences, which adds a fresh visual energy. The banter and chaotic humor remain hit-or-miss, sometimes leaning into borderline inappropriate jokes that feel unnecessary for a kids’ film. Still, the pacing is better, the ideas are bolder, and the animation experiments keep it engaging. While it doesn’t fully escape the problems of SpongeBob’s cinematic outings, it’s more enjoyable than the others and lands as an acceptable, if imperfect, watch.
