Odie Henderson RogerEbert.com Here's a movie that would benefit from being broken up by late-night television commercials. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 17, 2015 Full Review Robert Abele Los Angeles Times Between plot and character, there are definitely 18 holes in "The Squeeze." Apr 16, 2015 Full Review Josh Kupecki Austin Chronicle A third act twist renders everything null and void and seriously strains anything mildly resembling reality. Rated: 1/5 Apr 16, 2015 Full Review Dominic Griffin Spectrum Culture If you ever thought Paul Newman should have played golf instead of pool in The Hustler, congratulations! You're the reason The Squeeze exists. Rated: 2/5 Jul 16, 2019 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Within the legacy of golf movies, this subpar thriller doesn't reach the leaderboard. Audience Member As a player and golf fan, this flick was clearly above average, except it was hard to detach Christopher from Happy Gilmore. Otherwise, there was some suspense, emotion, ok cast, and a certain innocence and cuteness about the overall feel that made it more endearing than banal. Yes some parts are derivative like 99% of movies out there, but it had just enough of the right components and twists to make it an enjoyable film. And thank God they used actors who actually have real golf swings... made the whole thing a little more credible. Maybe not one of the best golf movies ever, but with a couple of sprinkles here and there, it could have been in the conversation. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly entertaining, rough ending though Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review broforcesquad . This was on the Golf Channel yesterday and the description read "young golf star gets involved with old school gambler (guy that played Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore) and go to Vegas to hustle other golfers out of money." So golf, gambling, Vegas and the lead actress is really hot .....I'm IN! Too bad the story sucks, but I figured that going in. The golf scenes were shot better than any golf movie I've seen... and I've seen them all. With the final scene taking place on the Wynn Golf Course with the Vegas Strip in the background it was very well directed. I'll never watch it again, but still some parts caught my attention. To hear three dudes who would love to grab beers with Shooter McGavin talk movies check us out at broforcesquad.com Rated 2 out of 5 stars 08/07/17 Full Review Audience Member This was an ok golf movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member It only ever simmers with its sporting excellence theme, as well as its corrupt gamblers theme. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member "I'm wearing my golf socks, there's a hole in one" There are lots of good golf jokes online - just a shame the writer didn't use any. This turgid drama by numbers makes Hart to Hart look cutting edge. It's just about the most dated thing I've ever seen. Ugh. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
