Sam B @M0neyM4ncer Dec 19 A lot of people seem to be calling it a substantial coming of age film, but I really can't agree. The pacing film was strangely off, with the first 30 minutes or so being pretty unnecessary and the real coming of age bits not starting until there was only 40 minutes or so left of the movie. The main character was also lacking depth I feel, a lot of characters were. My biggest issue however was the completely wrong handling of the relationship between the main character and the student teacher. Noel is 20 and Pauly is 17... Clearly wrong and that is even acknowledged at some points, however it isn't condemned the way it should be and is romanticized more often than not. By the end of the movie it feels like a cautionary tale but not enough is done to solidify that. The movie was portrayed as a "fun drama" but by the end felt like I watched a kid get taken advantage of (which is literally what happened). Idk, movie was weird and themes were handled improperly imo. See more Drayce M @Happyland1971 Oct 25 An interesting coming of age film. The aesthetic really helps the film. The cinematography was well done. The characters are interesting, and the story held my attention. The story was a bit muddled, and could’ve been executed more eloquently.
