Audience Member This Christmas special puts a new and heartwarming twist on the story of Santa Clause, effectively creating a relatable image of Santa rather than the standard "Cutie Clause" that most kid's movies present. This special doesn't focus on the "twinkle in Kringle's eye" or the "Belly full of Jelly", instead, it shows an honest hardworking man who was raised in an orphanage and grew to acquire his own toy store, with the modest dream of making children happy with the toys he whittles from wood. This special is different from most other kid's Christmas movies in the way that it pulls you in and evokes an emotional response. From the issues of a fathers strained relationship with his son to learning to accept people for who they are, every moral lesson is perfectly executed by presenting the problem in an emotional scene then having the characters work with one another to fix it. Attachment to the relatable characters and the creativity used in creating the fantastic, yet all to real story and scenarios are this special's strong-suits. The introduction to the elves and the songs they sing are charming, sweet, and whimsical. This may be a Christmas special only half the length of a true movie, but with the little running time it has, it truly performs Christmas miracles.
