Mar 6, 2023 Full Review Sarah Gopaul Digital Journal The mystery is what initially engages audiences as they try to determine how these events are connected. Paula W I thought this movie was so well done. It is a mixture of utter sadness, joy and the profound conflict of emotions of remembering when in grief and the joy of possibility when trying to move forward from that. Be prepared with a full box of tissue available! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review Kat P While the storyline is intricately woven, the movie as a whole left a bad taste in my mouth. I found it difficult to connect or care about the characters. And the relationship dynamics, especially in the second half of the movie, weirded me out tbh. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review Laurence M First of all, go into this movie fresh -- watching it without any foreknowledge. Many of the intro/loglines out there kinda spoil some of the surprises. I'm not usually a 'chick flick' kind of guy, but this also isn't your typical 'chick flick'. It's a *wonderful* movie that's brilliantly written, with some of the best, sparkling dialog I think I've ever seen. No superheroes, no special FX, no CGI, no gratuitous sex or violence, just a wonderful story told in a wonderful way, capped by brilliant performances. It will also spark many conversations, which, in the final analysis is a great success metric for a movie. DO NOT MISS! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/25/23 Full Review Devon B It was touching, unsentimental and the story line that looks predictable, was not. A much more honest look at grief and guilt that is unexpectedly fresh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/23 Full Review Paul B The Swearing Jar showcases the incredible talent of Kate Hewlett. She weaves a story with perfectly placed past reference scenes, ultimately explaining it in its entirety. The beautifully acted characters are an on-target depiction of the human condition. Rather than "watching movie" it feels like you are an observer of actual events. Another astounding example is the music/songs written by Kate, which fully complement the story. This film bears watching more than once to fully appreciate the craft of Kate Hewlett. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/14/23 Full Review Jonathan B Lovely, heartfelt film which draws you in, languidly, to Carey's story. How tragic and fabulously lucky she is! Kathleen Turner is a tour de force in a very engaging cast. Enjoyed this film! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews
