Dwight Brown DwightBrownInk.com Clearly audiences will root for the good guys because solid scripts make that happen. But their enthusiasm will be boosted by Sy's friendly and disarming demeanor. When he smiles audiences smile with him. May 11, 2022 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com The movie's clumsy dazzling only shows the desperation within, both for Letterier and for what perpetuates the heroic cop story nowadays. Rated: 1.5/4 May 10, 2022 Full Review Robert Daniels Polygon Somewhere in the two-hour run time is a tight, thrilling 90 minutes. But too much fat suffocates the potential. May 6, 2022 Full Review Aaron Phillips But Why Tho? A Geek Community The Takedown is a rip-roaringly funny film led by its leads Omar Sy, and Laurent Lafitte. While the beginning is a little jarring, it quickly finds its feet as the two detectives attempt to prove who’s the better cop while trying to solve the mystery. Rated: 8/10 Jan 4, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Leterrier has a clear eye for banter-driven action in the vein of “Lethal Weapon” and he certainly has the two leads. But its hard to get past the script which never fully sells us on its characters or its social message. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 16, 2022 Full Review Rahul Desai News9 Live (India) The Takedown refuses to be more than its satirical mission statement. Rated: 2/5 Jul 19, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Maksym H Funny thriller with a lot of plot twists. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/28/23 Full Review Heard J Jam-packed with the same old tired, stereotyped, and misplaced social justice preaching that is found in so many films and series today. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/06/23 Full Review Carlo C Un bad boys a la europea, con el plus de tener a Omar Sy en el reparto, lo que inmediatamente hace a la película mejor. Me gustó, me divirtió y logró su objetivo. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/23 Full Review Alain M "Loin du périph" is an action-comedy film that showcases the immense talent of Omar Sy as an actor who can seamlessly blend humor and action. In this movie, Sy plays Ousmane, a petty criminal who finds himself teaming up with a police officer to solve a murder case. Sy delivers an outstanding performance as Ousmane, demonstrating his range as an actor with his ability to transition smoothly between comedic and dramatic scenes. He brings an energy and charisma to the character that makes him instantly likable, and he carries the movie with ease. One of the things that really sets "Loin du périph" apart is its use of locations. The movie takes place in a gritty, urban environment, which provides a perfect backdrop for the action and comedy. The filmmakers use the locations to their advantage, incorporating them into the story in a way that adds an extra dimension to the film. Overall, "Loin du périph" is a great movie that showcases the immense talent of Omar Sy. His ability to combine action and comedy is remarkable, and he carries the film with ease. The use of locations adds an extra layer of excitement to the movie, making it a must-watch for fans of action-comedy films.
