Don’t be put off by its structural and narrative shortcomings. This is still a very watchable, gripping and sometimes moving portrait of men at war, and likely the most realistic ever depiction of a second world war tank crew. Go to Full Review

The film is morally complex in a way that makes it genuinely challenging to watch, largely because it commits fully to telling a WWII story from the German point of view. Go to Full Review

"The Tank" follows a unique narrative path marked by clever foreshadowing and intriguing moral reflections, finishing up with a bold final act that immediately calls for a second viewing. Go to Full Review

'Der Tiger' trades battlefield spectacle for moral decay and existential dread. Claustrophobic and technically impressive, it raises sharp questions about guilt and obedience, but struggles to turn its heavy ideas into compelling drama. Go to Full Review

Leander S 5d Das Boot meets Apocalypse Now. A tank crew was sent out to recover a higher military commander. During their journey they encouter several obstacles. Once they sit in their tank under water and listen for the motors of hostile tanks (Das Boot scene after the battle). At the end they meet the commander who built a little camp with prostitutes and alcohol (the cheap version of Marlon Brandos terror village in Apocalypse Now). The quality is quite entertaining but the too predictable story and expectable details which were derived from other great movies make it a bit boring. Those ancestor movies, Das Boot und Apocalypse Now, still meet todays expectations and do not need to be re-done. But if you are into the topic, this movie is nice to watch, but don't expect too much. See more Daniel T @Dan_TheCatMan Feb 27 Too few films like this exists today. I thoroughly enjoyed it and think there needs to be a lot more movies from the German tanker's perspective. Many times these men achieved near superhuman feats. Bravo! See more Eddie B @edbred Feb 22 A great war drama reminding us of how in war, there is no plot armor. The ending had my mouth dropping and reminded us of the reality of war. Even the toughest, most driven, most competent warriors can be caught up and make mistakes in a moment. See more Corey C. @cassawkc Feb 20 Enjoyable, not earth-shatterimg. Enjoyed everything but didn’t like the way it ended but it was a fitting final act. Highly recommended. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Feb 17 Deserved a Better Ending (12,281 - 16 Feb 2026) In 1943, after the battle of Stalingrad, the tiger is ready to leave the front with his crew – Lt. Philip Gerkens; gunner Christian; radio operator Keilig; loader Michel; and the driver Helmut – through the Dnieper bridge, which will be bombed. Helmut speeds up and while repairing the tank, they are assigned to the classified Operation Labyrinth, to retrieve Colonel Paul von Hardenburg from a bunker in the front. They journey to hell begins. "Der Tiger", a.k.a. "The Tank" (2025) could have been a masterpiece with a better ending. The claustrophobic set inside the tank recalls "Das Boat" (1981), but the twist to a supernatural conclusion does not work well like, for example, in "Jacob's Ladder" (1990) where the viewer sees strange things. Anyway, the performances are excellent and the screenplay of the journey to hell from the Tiger and its crew is gripping. My vote is eight.
