Audience Member The effects are pretty good but that's just about it. Actually not all the effects are good the Gargoyles in this movie look Appalling. There's hardly any character development if any. But it was interesting due to the effects and honestly the sequel is better but does drop in some effects. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member It was released in theaters in 1989, not 1977. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Blatant Corman rip off of Alien has a handful of survivors living in a underground shelter until a mutant gargoyle enters the safe haven. On its own, not bad. Rubber monster suit was a little disappointing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Campy Roger Corman-produced ALIEN rip-off has decent special effects. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The 80s was filled with these types of movies. It's a little bit Alien, a little bit Aliens, a dash of Macgyver, and a hint of Die Hard all held together by the producer Roger Corman. It's 80s b-movie drivel about a post apocalyptic world, its survivors, and the mutants who terrorize them and of course, rape the women to reproduce. It's not a great movie and what there is to laugh at isn't much, plus it contains 0 titties and the creature effects are downright atrocious. It does get some stars though because bits and pieces are hilarious and there is a good amount of gore. There's worse ways to spend an hour and a half of your time, then again, there's also much better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Despite taking place on terrestrial post-apocalyptic earth, this film takes more than a few cues from Alien (1979). Mutants who inhabit the barren earth with humans are aggressive. Even sexually aggressive. So when a human woman is raped by one of these gargoyles and gets a bun in her oven humans doctors attempt to abort it. Since babies dont like being aborted it pops out and hides in the vents after causing hemorrhaging on more than one person involved. Through a quick maturation process, the gargoyle-mutant becomes human-sized in a matter of hours and then starts his rape-revenge. Not as good as I've made it sound. Some decent scenes, especially those with George Kennedy (like when he attacks the monster bare-handed!). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews
