Audience Member Move over, Swing Vote; step aside, Waitress; out of the way, every cut-rate, low-end Lifetime movie ever: There's a new awful movie sheriff in town, and its name is Theory of the Leisure Class. A stupid premise; a narrator who couldn't possibly have known 80% of the events she was narrating; uneven direction; an idiotic, meandering plot; terrible acting; unsympathetic characters; and themes and dialogue dragged from an actual writer's garbage combine to make this the absolute dog puke of cinema. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member What dooms Theory is the acting and dialogue. The story itself, a rambling rumination on betrayal, shifting alliances, and cold compulsions, would probably have otherwise passed muster. As it was, I found myself unable to enjoy anything coming out of the characters' mouths. Some of the actors were passably good, but they had been given awkward sequences of lines to deliver. Worse, though, is that the actors seemed genuinely bored, and it's clear the director had a hard time telling when the dramatic focus had shifted to the wrong player. Skip this chore of a film.
