not the best but still okay. I personally hated the editing, it felt like someone had just found the fancy transition and text stuff and went absolutely haywire. on top of that I felt like all the scenes were to short, I was always left feeling like i had missed half the scene. the ending reminded me of a really short wattpad epilogue.

This movie never found its footing. The leads had no chemistry, and the central conflict in their storyline just didn't feel believable. Some of the moments between them were sweet, others were quite awkward. I think for gay rom coms, we're so happy to just have representation, we have low standards, but we deserve better.

Ok, so this isn't high art. But as a gay rom com, it pretty much everything I could hope for. It's cheesy, but the leads are great and it can be clever and charming at point. The soundtrack and the art direction is better than you'd expect. The main character is hopeless emotionally dumb and there are bunch of miscommunications, standard rom com tropes. Boy is this like crack to me, they could make a hallmark series out of this with slight variations and I'd eat it up.

The only reason the main character gets away with being such a mean, self-centered "friend" is that he's played by the writer and director of this movie. Who in their right mind would fall in love with someone so emotionally clueless and casually cruel? The ending is unearned; the wrong person apologized. :(
