Dave L I have seen much worse versions of the “actually haunted horror attraction”. It has some great set pieces that can be found in many of the attractions you may have actually been which allows for personal nostalgia. There are some moments of true tension. There are some genuine laughs…or at least smirks. Is it great, no, but it’s not awful. I enjoyed the leading actress and several of her multiple nemeses as they moved through their world. The slasher was lacking…it kind of felt like an animated robot in an amusement park. That may have been the goal though. I found the score often awkward. Mostly, if there was a serious misstep…I would lean toward the flimsy major plot point of the locations history and the resolution of that plot. I found the closing stinger to be creative enough for me to say, “Nope, didn’t expect that…”. Overall, The Tombs is an easy to watch distraction with a reasonably short run time and just enough going for it to keep from being completely wrapped up in what it lacked. If there were less innuendos I would say it’s a good gateway horror flick for older tweens. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
