Terri Lynn The toybox is the lowest of the lowest. This movie is probably the most pathetic movie I have ever watched. It's literally filmed in the same spot and doesn't go anywhere. The movie and the motor home definitely have something in common. They both clunked out. 😂 I gave up watching about 40% of the movie. I fast forward to see if the movie picked up, or went anywhere. Sadly, it didn't. I don't recommend this movie. I expected more ghostly feels, screaming, running, haunting feelings, but it failed to deliver. And failed to keep my attention. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/24 Full Review Cathleen V Absolutely one of the worst movies I've ever seen. I had high expectations when I saw Denise Richards and Mischa Barton in it. They could have came up with a much better plot line based on the true story that actually happened. The film could had some potential but was not done well. People were dying left and right and there was pretty much no reaction by any characters. There was probably only about 5 minutes total involving the "killer" scenes. I'd rather watch a documentary on this, and I now know to research a movie before spending the time to actually watch it. Lesson learned. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/24 Full Review Jason D This was one of the worst b graders I've ever seen. Full of scenes that were supposed to be full of emotion but then seriously lacking where it actually mattered. Who has their kid run over and then fine about it 30 seconds later? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Cory B Very cheesy. Acting was bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/03/24 Full Review Lander M "The Toybox" (2018) is one of those movies that's so bad, it's actually entertaining. It's a cinematic misfire that inadvertently lands in the 'comically bad' category. The acting isn't the issue here – in fact, it's surprisingly decent given what the cast has to work with. But where the film really falls apart is in its story and pacing. The plot is a jumbled mess, lacking any real sense of direction or coherence. The pacing is equally erratic, making it hard to get invested in what's happening on screen. However, it's these very flaws that make "The Toybox" unintentionally hilarious. The combination of a nonsensical storyline and awkward pacing results in a film that's so ludicrous, you can't help but laugh. For anyone who appreciates the charm of 'so bad it's good' horror movies, "The Toybox" is a must-watch. It's a perfect example of a film that's entertaining for all the wrong reasons, making it a bizarrely enjoyable experience for those in the mood for something light and laughably bad. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/30/23 Full Review Furius Idea itself for a horror movie is kinda unique, but unfortunately the story feels too simple and rushed to be better, but i still enjoyed it actually Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Dax Ebaben Bloody Disgusting The Toybox remains decidedly and disappointingly tame, despite its wild concept. Rated: 2/5 Aug 31, 2021 Full Review Drew Tinnin Dread Central A certain degree of camp should probably accompany a premise like this but the story here is actually surprisingly vicious and morose at times, delivering a tone of inevitable and inescapable doom. Rated: 2.0 Jul 30, 2020 Full Review Emilie Black Cinema Crazed While the film's story may seem ridiculous at first, it works really well and brings forth the talent of those involved in creating a film that is suspenseful and easy to watch. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 11, 2020 Full Review Peter Sobczynski eFilmCritic.com Might have made for some minor grubby fun -- maybe as filler between films at a horror-themed festival -- but as a full length film, it is little more than a joke and not an especially inspired one at that. Feb 20, 2019 Full Review Molly Henery The Blogging Banshee The Toybox is a tense indie horror film that combines ghostly thrills with a claustrophobic setting. Rated: 7/10 Nov 1, 2018 Full Review Walter Chaw Film Freak Central I say this but it's sort of funny when something is this not-funny. Also funny is the way The Toybox shoehorns in a few dad-in-a-chimney Gremlins monologues for bizarrely-pitched pathos. Rated: 1.5/4 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
