There's a whimsical, Wes Anderson-like quality to the way Wirkola introduces characters and plot twists, though the tone is more Martin McDonagh with a dash of Quentin Tarantino. Go to Full Review

Unfortunately, while [its] concept promises a fun, agile thriller, "The Trip" all too quickly descends into a juvenile, nihilistic mess. Go to Full Review

This movie is not meant to be politically correct but if there is a line, Wirkola has definitely stepped over it. Go to Full Review

“The Trip” isn’t for the faint of heart. Some scenes are extremely intense and the further it goes the gorier the movie gets. Yet it’s all fused with this wicked sense of humor that often pops up in the most unexpected moments. Go to Full Review

Donn A 5d my kind of dark comedy but a little messy. felt like it missed its full potential but great actors See more Ajeesh V @Ajeesh Nov 26 I absolutely loved this movie! It masterfully blends the psychological tension of films like Funny Games and Speak No Evil into a unique and thrilling package. The combination of horror laced with black comedy was executed perfectly; despite being incredibly gore-filled and violent, the film never failed to tickle my funny bone. Director Tommy Wirkola did a wonderful job, maintaining an exciting, fast-paced narration that kept the energy high. Noomi Rapace and Aksel Hennie delivered brilliant and energetic performances as Lisa and Lars. The antagonist, Petter, was genuinely scary, and I particularly enjoyed Roy, the 'better' character, with his dumb and violent charm. Coupled with a good background score and the amazing, beautiful backdrop of Finland, this movie is a highly satisfying watch See more Jacob B Mar 4 A rare blend of horror and comedy that actually works! Larry David meets Mr Tarantino. Bloody, bloody, bloody and very clever.
