Khaliel P The Gendarme Gets Married followed the success of the second film with a new focus on Cruchot’s love life, ultimately pairing him with Claude Gensac, imposed by de Funès himself despite tensions with director Jean Girault. Filmed in spring 1968 amid strikes that delayed production, the shoot mixed a holiday atmosphere in a quiet Saint-Tropez with financial and scheduling frustrations. Behind the scenes, conflicts arose—Jean Lefebvre even accused de Funès of reducing his role—but on screen, the chemistry between de Funès, Gensac, and Galabru carried the comedy. While the film was a box office success, its thin plot and episodic structure make it the least memorable entry in the saga. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/18/25 Full Review Audience Member Bemusing follow-up with too much entertainment , full of mirth and lots of fun--Daughter and stepmother!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Un très bon "Gendarmes". La scène de l'examen est sans aucun doute une des meilleures de la série. Et de Funès est excellent dans ce film! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member That sort of humour would never get old. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member one of the better film in the series of the gendarmes. Very variation in the film, there's the romance wich is very funny and there is also the reaction of cruchot's adjudant and Nicole as well. As an ending there is a unsuspected event, wich gives a bit action to the film that was missing earlier in the film such as the persuit with the sister, wich i find just genious!
