Hanlon's film is modest and somewhat uneven. yet it conveys the dislocation of a "foot soldier" lobbed back into society with some vividness.

The way the story is portrayed, it’s a little tough to follow. Choppy. Sean is a difficult character to watch.

Really good gritty and powerful story of how “ the troubles” sucked in ordinary people in to behaving like gangsters for a “cause”. Low budget but really well acted and produced

Bleak account of rank and file terrorist life in the late 70s/early 80s. The low budget undoubtedly holds it back but above all the dialogue is unfathomable at times. Spoiler alert: the final dramatic scene will have to be replayed quite a few times to understand what's actually been said. I gave up in the end! As I wish I had after the first fifteen minutes tbh.
