Audience Member This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The lead character is a pathological liar who pursues a married woman. Some of the scenes are painful re-treads of movies that are actually funny. The scene where Gilby is in an interview and lies that he went to Harvard. Of course the interviewer went to Harvard and she asks him if a professor she had is still there. A similar scene was funny in Catch Me If You Can, but not here. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member The "critics" below must be cynical, jaded or plain bored with themselves because this movie is definitely worth a watch imho. It's universe rang true, flowed relatively smoothly & had genuine smile & laugh inducing moments with the characters for the most part interacting legitimately with each other. This is a cute, cool rom-com that works & you should check it out for yourself to make up your own mind, critics (those who don't do but hurl opinions mind you) be damned. Bam...enjoy Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member So terrible that sleeping on an uncomfortable chair was the better option. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently, fake audience reviews abound. Skip this turkey. Awful viewing experience. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't often find a romantic comedy that I instantly love right after viewing it, but there's just something about The Truth About Lies that has me smitten. The cast has amazing chemistry, and their hilarious witty banter had me laughing the whole time. This charming film has you interested in more than just romance; it makes you feel for the characters and how they deal with different relationships from family to friendship. Anyone who loves a great film, or just rom-coms in general needs to see this. From the incredible writing to the talented cast, this film is just a joy to watch. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Most romantic comedies focus on female leads and how their life falls apart after a breakup and their journey back into the dating world. The film was refreshing to see a male lead go through these challenges and that love wasn't his end goal, but finding himself was. It makes you reflect on the saying "you don't know what you have until it's gone". This is a great film to cuddle up with friends who need a boost from a break-up or who are having a hard time in life with their career because it touches on those elements lightly and comedically. Loved it! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Justin Lowe Hollywood Reporter Ineptly conceived and indifferently produced, The Truth About Lies aptly demonstrates why VOD is really the best platform for a certain category of indie features. Oct 28, 2017 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times On a single day, the protagonist of "The Truth About Lies" is fired from his job, his apartment burns down and his girlfriend dumps him. He has it easy compared to anyone who actually watches this thoroughly unpleasant, unfunny comedy. Oct 26, 2017 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The truth is that this is a dreadful TV-like sitcom rom/com. Rated: C Oct 26, 2017 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation Unintentionally timely, thanks to its fibbing hero's similarities to America's most famous liar. Just not very funny.
