alvin a Forgive me but I found this movie wonderfully awful. HOW many movies have Granny Awang vampire end up hanging from the bedroom window in her undies by her ###### after she got it caught in the window while trying to drink the blood of a ######. (You'd hate me if I gave spoilers). I surprised a close group of friends on a Halloween with this movie and we were all screaming. OK---not always in fear but it has some neat moments. I greatly appreciated this movie and found myself (and my friends) often saying 'Oh no. you didn't!' It's a crazy, sleazy surprising horror movie with a chainsaw surprise in one scene (oh no, you didn't!) and a very disturbed Southern Family, in America. Very much for people who have a dark, dark sense of humor and a love of independent movies. Especially if you're pregnant. My friends did thank me when the movie was done. They kind of threw food at me periodically throughout the movie. Honesty: I give it double or triple what the serious movie critics did. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Coming from the Philippines, the Aswang myth that they presented here had very little resemblance to the one that we know back home. This is a very Westernize version of it, distilled to a point that it's almost indistinguishable. The movie has little resemblance to an Asian horror film instead it's a derivative of a lot of classic horror movies, from Texas Chainsaw, Alien, even some X-files and Blue Velvet. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Had moments of potential which were quickly ruined by the obvious lack of funds available and talent on offer and the attempt at atmospheric pacing just made it drag. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I really WANTED to like it... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Yucky idea, crappy execution.
