Amateurish execution, with stiff performances trying to make sense of a confused screenplay. Go to Full Review

Lorna C @RT41245595 10/13/2024 As someone who likes mystery but not gore, I found this movie intriguing enough the watch all the way through. Fascinating story and take on the classic vampire, very solid acting. A good surprise ending, but a disappointing one. It felt abrupt with no wrap up to satisfy the viewer, just left me guessing if I saw what I saw and thought what I thought. Could have been more definitive. Felt like the writer wasn't sure how to end the story. See more BowTangey M @BowTangey 10/04/2024 A bit of a mess, but the rousing ending and the soundtrack saves it. See more 06/11/2017 A long and ultimately pointless film. More a shame because the two female leads are well acted have believable chemistry. And it seems both of their film careers have suffered for this hateful, nihilistic tripe. So shoutout to Hannah Fierman and Elizabeth Hunter for making a depressing, poorly paced 'film' watchable. See more 08/01/2015 The bottom line is that it's an adaptation of a Gothic horror novel from the late 19th century. At the time the novel was groundbreaking, however someone unfamiliar with its past may view everything as being tired cliches. The performances are good and it has enough to keep you watching. When I tell my friends that I saw it and they ask me how it was, I'll shrug and say, "it was alright." I can't really find a reason to recommend it to your average movie-goer, or even your average indie movie-goer. See more Read all reviews
