Rather than examining the pandemic as a complex public health crisis shaped by uncertainty and debate, the film offers a one-sided account where state actions appear beyond question and criticism is treated with suspicion. Key realities—oxygen shortages, abrupt lockdowns, migrant distress, vaccine inequity, and data opacity—are largely absent, leaving the portrayal incomplete. The film also mishandles scientific scrutiny. International questions surrounding Covaxin, including concerns over trial transparency and regulatory timelines, are reframed as hostility rather than routine oversight. By reducing debate to a test of loyalty, the film undercuts its own claims to scientific seriousness. Overlong and repetitive, it prioritizes messaging over storytelling, limiting its value as a reflective account of a pivotal moment.
